Motivation: To rescue his fellow monks from their slavery, gain forgiveness for his failures as an expedition leader, rally the Monastic orders, rise up against the sorcerer kings and end the slavery.
Beldak Tah-hook is a part of the monastic order called the Obsidian Monks who live in the Obsidian Monastary nestled within the Ringing Mountains. Their primary trading partner is the small Dwarven village of Kled.they routinely send groups of monks deep into the desert to mine for precious metals and gather bones and scales. He was an expedition leader, a position of great importance in that the expedition leader is responsible for the lives of every monk on the expedition. it is also their responsibility to make sure that their wares, metals, stone, and all other acquired materials make it to the markets. The main reason for their merchant ways is to allow them to trade for food and water to ensure that the monks have enough for themselves and any wanderers that come across the monastery looking for shelter or help.
Soon after breaking ground on a new mine Beldak’s expedition was raided by slavers. Many of his expedition was killed in the initial attack and the others were captured for slave labor. Beldak’s basic instincts kept him out of the slavers pens. he followed the slavers for days and when the opportunity to rescue his brothers he took it. little did he know that the slavers had spotted him following their caravan two days prior and they had laid a trap for him. After capturing Beldak, the caravan split into different groups each heading to different cities to maximize their profits. Beldak is separated from his brothers and as Expedition leader it falls upon him to bring his brothers back to the monastery.
